Controversial dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah professionally called Shatta Wale, is calling on other musicians in Ghana to come together and protest the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) ban against Ghanaian celebrities endorsing alcoholic beverages.
The “Melissa” hitmaker is calling on musicians to join him on the streets to demonstrate against the directives of FDA.
In a Facebook live video, the “Borjor” musician asked his colleague musicians to come together and join have a successful protest and also plead with the President to review the ban because such endorsements served as a source of income for celebrities.
According to Shatta Wale, he could decide to stop ranting about the subject but he wants to use the opportunity to educate some musicians, in his view, have failed to grasp the full implication of the FDA ban.
“Some of us don’t have [a] problem. I will only say this because I want to educate most of the artistes. Most of the people don’t see it this way. Some think it’s about women and showing off.
